The Jolley Home

88 East Broad Street

This 1914 brick and marble historical home, that is currently home to the Jolley family, was originally built by E.M Cole for his bride Maddie Tate. E. M. Cole’s father, Mathew Cole, was a founding member of the R. D. Cole Manufacturing Company of Newnan. Maddie Tate is of Tate, GA which is often referred to as the marble capital of the world. The marble on the exterior of the home was provided by The Georgia Marble Company, which was founded by her family. The home later served as the home of Karl Nixon and his wife, Mary Glover Nixon. Karl was a president of the Newnan Cotton Mills. Inside you will find modern updates while still in keeping with the home’s historical charm such as wood inlaid pocket doors, and original flooring throughout. This home has 5 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, game room, and an open concept formal sitting room, living room, and kitchen space. Outside you will find an oasis with a newly added pool and pavilion with a fireplace, koi pond, and pool house. The completely renovated 1800’s pool house in the backyard was said to be where Maddie Tate taught Sunday school. This home beautifully merges vintage and history with modern comforts and style. We welcome you and wish you a Merry Christmas!
