Ward Home

62 West Washington Street

This beautiful Victorian home was built in the 1870's by J. Dent. He lived in the home until 1097, when he gifted it to his daughters. The home remained in the Dent family until 1973 The main floor of the house is original and features a unique design of three fireplaces on one chimney. You will see one of the fireplaces in the hallway as you enter the home. The others that share the chimney are located in the living room and dining room. There are two other fireplaces that share one chimney, in the master bedroom and library. There is also a rare large pocket door between the living room and dining room. The kitchen and breakfast room were added to the house in the 1940's. The door from the hallway to the breakfast area was the original back door. There were two butler pantries, one of which, has been made into a laundry room. The back deck was added at a later date. Going up the stairs with the beautiful original banister, you will find two bedrooms and a large bathroom. The current owner, Marcy Ward, bought the home in 2014 after falling in love with it, at first sight.
